Community & Canvas

Community & Canvas: Where Art Meets Community

Welcome to Community & Canvas, a local Art Peer Support Group proudly offered free to the Fort Wayne community through the School Care Teams' partnership with Monarch Mental Health. Our group is more than just an opportunity to create art; it’s a chance to build a supportive and understanding community. Led by a peer who truly understands the challenges of mental health, each session is designed to foster a sense of belonging and creativity. You don’t need to be an artist to join our tribe—everyone is welcome! Whether you're an experienced artist or have never picked up a paintbrush, you’ll find a place here. Participants must be 18 and older, and all supplies are provided. If you need a safe and calm environment but aren’t in the mood to talk or actively participate, you’re welcome to bring your headphones and design simple-minded mandalas provided for you. Each group project is thoughtfully created with meaningful connections to art history, mental health, and well-being. Remember, Community & Canvas is not an art therapy group but a space for those who wish to find an outlet through art and connection.

Join us every other Monday evening and discover the joy of creating together!
